This valuable teaching resource uses statistics from international and national statistical agencies to provide numerical profiles of women and men and their status in societies. Critical aspects of life are compared and analyzed, such as families, health, education, work, power and decision-making, violence against women, environment and poverty.

With each category, there is a list of Key Global Findings and charts which compare regions of the world. Then statistics are often provided from each country covering topics of interest pertaining to the category, for example birth rates, or education levels.
